Aurora Aksnes born 15th June 1996 Stavanger is a Norwegian music writer and singer. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves is an album released in May 2015 from Decca Records. It has been praised by the blogs and the press. Half the World Away, by the Oasis band for John Lewis Christmas advertisements and Nature Boy by Nat King Cole are two of the artist's high-profile recordings. Aurora Aksnes' earliest memory of music is when she discovered a grand piano that was in the attic. The piano was fascinating to her its capabilities. Jan Oystein Aksnes and May-Britt Aksnes encouraged Aurora to study music not to get work or for a passion and as a way to grow. The singer began to write her own songs. Responding to her mother's advice that people ought not to aim to be famous through her songwriting, but instead recognize the significance of their lives and their impact on society. She was suggested by her mother to be able to perform her music publicly in order to help people realize their own importance and how they can affect the world. This was not known to her family members until she reached the age of fourteen. Aurora never dreamed of being famous. She says she just likes to compose songs.
