Aurora Aksnes, born June 15 1997 in Stavanger and is professionally known as Aurora often stylized in uppercase in the form of AURORA is a Norwegian singer and songwriter. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves by Decca Records was released on May 15th, 2015 it received a raving review from bloggers and music critics as well as the press. Half the World Away, by the Oasis band, was released for John Lewis Christmas advertisements and Nature Boy by Nat King Cole are two of the artist's high-profile recordings. Katy Perry shared a tweet where Perry made a splash with her track Runaway. It was her birthday celebration. Aurora Aksnes' first musical memory involves finding a small piano in her basement and being fascinated at the sound it made. Jan Oystein Aksnes' parents May Britt Aksnes advised her to make music as a means of development of her own, not for the purpose of making a living or as a hobby. For this reason, she began writing original compositions. Her sources include noted authors Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan and her love of Bjork's style. When her mother told her that the songs she wrote could be used to not make her famous but instead to inspire individuals to recognize their own value and impact in this world, she began performing them publicly. She started playing piano at age six and writing music at age nine. The fact that she was a musician wasn't known by her family until she was fourteen. Aurora wasn't a dream. Aurora is simply a writer who loves writing songs. For her, the music she writes is the way that she feels anything.
